This alone should not be enough to put you off completely – even good looking people can have trouble finding love. Just keep it at the back of your mind that all might not be as it seems.

You could attempt to call their bluff and ask them to create one, giving the reasons why it would be a good idea. This will put the scammer on the back foot which is where you want them.
Be mindful that the person may have legitimate reasons for not having a social media presence. It could be that a ex is stalking them and they want to keep it low profile. If this is the reason given, you should try and come up with alternative ways to verify that they are real.
